The rare Silver Laced English Orpington is a beautiful black and white chicken with a bright red comb. Our strain is 100% English, with the roundness that is characteristic of the breed.

The round appearance derives from its broad body, short back, and low stance enhanced by fluffy feathers. The abundant plumage also makes these chickens especially resistant to cold weather.

The Silver Laced English Orpington is a dual purpose meat-and-egg breed. The hens lay as many as 180 eggs per year and may brood. English Orpingtons are exceptionally docile, and therefore excel as backyard pets, particularly around children.
