Description
The Partridge Cochin Bantam rooster has a stunning combination of rich, lustrous red feathers and satiny green-black feathers. The hen’s feathers are deep reddish bay with black penciling. Both have the fluffy, round appearance that is characteristic of the Cochin breed.
Recognized by the American Standard of Perfection in 1874, the Partridge Cochin Bantam is extremely docile and easy to maintain. It is not only a great show bird, but also makes a wonderful pet.
In fact, of all the feather-legged bantam breeds, Cochins top the list in popularity. They also make the short list of exceptional broody hens, and are caring mothers to their chicks.
