Pure Bred American Saddlebred Mare

Purebred skewbald Saddlebred mare. Phoebe has been a field ornament for 7 & half years before being green broke, she then came to me in Jan 22.My sister bred her but she cannot ride due to her own disabilities and I have my own horses so this is a genuine sale. She is very low mileage and as I have no one at the yard to escort her out on the busy roads where she is kept, so she has not hacked out yet. She has seen traffic and tractors and is not concerned with them. We have no off road riding so only a manage to school in. She has just had her fronts on as she feels the stones, although cold shod this first time she was very good.

She has not cantered under saddle yet as unbalanced at the moment. What she needs are some nice bridle paths to get her going, I have none near me. She lacks confidence so must have company to hack out with and also when turned out in the field. She is kept with my own in a small mixed herd, she does like to bond with a friend, both horse and human.

I have shown her once for in hand classes and one ridden class but only walk and trot, she was very good but tended to nap when ridden. She is good in the stable and to load. She is a very comfortable ride and sensitive but you can put your leg on if required. I think she would go very well in Western as she is not the usual high headed type of Saddlebred but more “English”. She is a very kind mare and not really mareish or spooky but will need a quiet and confident rider so no novices. She is eligible for Foreign breed classes and coloured classes plus her sires progeny do like to jump. She is looking for a 121 home to bring her to her full potential, a good home a priority.
